Inaugural Port Sorell Visual Arts Summer Masterclass (inserted on 13-04-2005)
This event is in the early planning stages, and a Planning and Implementation Committee has recently been formed.
It is envisaged to hold this novel event which will bring together many of Tasmania's most respected artists with a select range of gifted art students in February 2006.
It is planned to invite a small number of gifted Tasmanian artists to come together at Tranquilles for a day in which each will have the opportunity to describe some of their special techniques to a group of masterclass participants. The weekend will also include two exhibitions, one by the invited artists and another by participants.
The general public will be offered the opportunity on the Sunday to visit Tranquilles, experience the range of artistic works exemplified in the two exhibitions, and to purchase works.
