Horse Trail Rides

Our trail riding experiences are mainly conducted on and around the historic property 'Armitstead'.
A typical morning or afternoon ride will see you in the saddle for between two and three hours and will take in magnificent forest areas, pasture land and tracks through eucalypt plantation.
We are in the heart of the Mersey River Valley and will cross the river on several occasions, when dependent on the time of day it is not unusual to see platypus at play or trout leaping to take an insect.
We 'boil the billy' at either the shearers quarters or on the banks of the Mersey River while the horses and riders take a well-earned spell.
We supply morning or afternoon tea and the magnificent views of the Gog Range and Great Western Tiers come free of charge.
We attempt to cater for most and your choice of horses includes a range of breeds such as Thouroughbreds, Arabs, Quarter Horses and even a noble Percheron or Clydesdale. Our guides will always strive to provide the best match of type and temperament for our guests.
All riders will be required to wear safety helmets (as supplied by us) and appropriate clothing (long trousers and long sleeve shirts are a minimum, whilst boots are highly recommended).
Our rides are tailored to suit specific needs but this environment is not suited to complete beginners
